Delano Jazz Orchestra

The Delano Jazz Orchestra is an 18 member jazz Big Band featuring some of the Wichita areas finest jazz musicians. The Delano Jazz Orchestra is ready for a wonderful 2023-2024 season. The music chosen for the season will feature many of the great Jazz Big Band classics as well as some very contemporary compositions. The Jazz Orchestra will perform 3 concerts at the West Side Baptist Church, 304 South Seneca.

Sunday, October 29, 2023
The first program of the season will highlight Duke Ellington’s “Take a Train”. Also on tap is Buddy Rich’s “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy”. We add a little spice with “Mambo” from West Side Story. Fun show to listen to.

Sunday, January 28, 2024
Our second concert will include Stan Kenton’s “Malaguena” and more great music from Bob Mintzer.

Sunday April 7, 2024
Our third concert is in the works as we will be getting ready for the Wichita Jazz Festival as well.

Plan now to attend the Delano Jazz Orchestra concerts on October 29, 2023, January 28, 2024, and April 7, 2024. All concerts are at 3:00pm and free (donations accepted). The music will put a smile on your face and get your toe a tappin.
